Glamorgan Remembers

In this part of the Glamorgan Cricket Archives website, the Club looks back and remembers the actions of their former players during the two World Wars. This includes Maurice Turnbull, the captain of Glamorgan CCC from 1930 to 1939 who was killed during 1944 following the Normandy Landings.

The film below was created by Glamorgan CCC during November 2019 in conjunction with the Royal British Legion to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings and subsequently Maurice’s death. The film was also shown at the Legion’s Festival of Remembrance in St.David’s Hall, Cardiff on November 2nd.

Glamorgan Cricket take a look back at Maurice Turnbull, and the impact he had on the Welsh county during his remarkable life.

Other material will be added during the course of the coming months.
